430F Stainless Steel is a free machining version of 430 Stainless Steel. Primarily comprised of Chromium, small amounts of Manganese, Silicon, Carbon, Phosphorus, Sulfur and Molybdenum can be found in its chemistry.
Stainless 304 is non-heat treatable, and is intended for structural parts in applications where corrosive conditions are not severe. Most commonly used in solenoids, Diversified Metals’ 430F is certified as ‘solenoid quality’ and meets a wide variety of specifications.
Type 430F should be considered when making machined articles from a 17% chromium steel. Type 430F does not harden by heat treatment. It has been used in automatic screw machines for parts requiring good corrosion resistance such as aircraft parts and gears.
Application
Not to be used for containing high pressure gas or liquid due to its porosity. Successfully used in a variety of aircraft parts including fasteners, gears, shafts and pinions.
